Earmold MaterialsAcrylicThis is a hard material in which most earmold styles can be fabricated. The exceptions are: hollowed canals, swim plugs, knock outs and race car driver molds. VinylIs a soft, flexible material in which most earmold styles can be fabricated. Good for children and senior citizens. Recommended for mild to profound losses. (Note: This material will shrink after 9-11 months.) Standard SiliconeThis material is a flexible, inert rubber. Most earmold styles can be fabricated in this material. Recommended for severe to profound losses. Medical Grade SiliconeThis material is a soft, flexible inert rubber. Most earmold styles can be fabricated in this material. The exceptions are: hollowed canals, skeletons, semi-skeletons, non-occluding styles, and canal with locks. Most allergy problems can be solved with this material. Recommended for mild to profound losses. (Note: this material is preferred by children(due to the colors available) and is excellent for high-gain hearing aids. BodysoftThis material will soften with body heat. All earmold styles can be fabricated, with the exception of hollowed canals. Recommended for mild to profound losses. |
