Recessed Tubes

Recessed tubes are used in Acrylic, Vinyl and Bodysoft molds. This type of tube is used when the canal diameter cannot accommodate a through tube or when there is an intersecting vent. A through tube is recommended whenever possible, except in Bodysoft, because the canal easily splits.

Recessed TubeRecessed tubes should be inserted at least 1/3 of the way into the canal.

Recessed TubeWhen using a recessed tube, always make sure the vent is not blocked by the tube or by the glue used in securing the tube.

To tube recessed tubes, first prepare the tube by cutting it just before the tube straightens on the tapered end.Prepare

Acrylic

Dip cut end of tube into acrylic cement. Insert cut end of tube in back side of mold. Place tube in proper direction. Using an air blower, check tube for blockage before cement dries.

Vinyl

Insert cut end of tube in back of mold. Using a small sable-hair brush, apply vinyl cement around tube. Check tube and vents for blockage before cement dries.

Bodysoft

Use a recessed tube with this material. Tube the same as vinyl, except use acrylic cement. Work quickly and use cement sparingly.

Note:
With all recessed tubes, check tube and vent for blockage before cement dries.
